I had to take a break from my trip due to many issues but one rather big one...
So as my journey began with no plans and no idea where I was actually going, I headed out from LA and up to Santa Barbara for lunch and supplies to head up the coast. As I noticed sooner rather than later the coast was a mess of fog and cold which in August is nothing I want to experience.
So when Monterey came I quickly made the decision to cut east and dodge the foggy coastline for hot, sunny, hazy skies. But not before catching a night of sleep at the Laguna Seca Raceway State campsite. Quite interesting.
I took a mess of highways and freeways the next day to finally reach the northern end of the Sequoia National Forest up the 168 highway(or rather two lane road).
Stopped at Huntington Lake for lunch and then headed east to see if the reduced one lane road I was on made it to Mammoth. Unfortunately I will never know because about halfway a four wheel drive vehicle was much needed. My focus took the brunt of many potholes and unnecessary off-roading.
Headed back to Huntington for some dinner and a night in my car again. As I was putting up my tent one of the poles broke(thank you REI). Lets just say after two nights in a row in my car I am not so pleased with the ache in my tailbone and the pain in my upper back. Got into the campsite at around 8:30 pm and left by 7 am so I stayed for free! (the campsite ranger never came by to collect my fees)
As I was leaving that morning from Lake Huntington, I somehow put 3 gallons of diesel number 2 in my gas tank! I believe my expression was OH SHIT but oh well. Not so humorous as I somehow made it the 50 miles to Fresno with my dad saying "you are screwed, and not in a good way." As I had several things to accomplish in Fresno, number one fill gas tank with REGULAR fuel, number two get a new tent a REI, and number three see a mechanic IMMEDIATELY!
I did get a new tent for free! But I also had a mechanic tell me, "you better pray, long and hard." Not so inviting when my days plans were to drive to Yosemite to the 395 and down to Death Valley.
So as an unexpected detour I made it San Diego just fine because naturally my focus is a beast and has made it through hell and beyond. But now I must sit and wait a few days for my car to feel better again to take off! Hopefully I will not run into the same problems, like being an idiot and putting diesel number two in my car. So I got to upload and edit some shots of the past few days, not much but worth a glance or two. Enjoy.

Unfortunately no images from the 120 pano camera, it takes time for film to be developed and images to be scanned. Soon.
